     Joseph Norton lived in Major's Cove near Miober's Bridge, Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts.1 He was born in Mar 1652 in Massachusetts.1 He married first Mary Bayes circa 1673 in Massachusetts.1 He was the Vineyard's first representative to the General Court of Massachusettes in 1692 in Massachusetts.1 He was sheriff of the county in 1699 in Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts.1 He married second Ann Trapp circa 1702 in Massachusetts.1 He was commissioned as Justice of the Court of Common Pleas in 1702 in Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts.1 He left a will on 28 May 1741.1 Joseph died in Massachusetts on 30 Jan 1741/42 at 89.1 He was buried in Tower Hill Cemetery, Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts.1 His estate was probated on 19 Oct 1742.1
