Sewall C. Viles is often found as Suell a common misspelling of his name. He was born in Jul 1881 in Vinton, Benton County, Iowa.1,2 He was put under the guardianship of A.S. Chadbourne by court order following his father's death. According to Jack Kearns, "It is not clear with whom he lived. When Chadbourne died, the guardianship was transferred to John G. Viles, Sewall's half brother." in Nov 1890 in Benton County, Iowa.2 He married Ella Bordwell circa 1900 in Vinton, Benton County, Iowa.3
